Barrus Projects took a part in the Heavy Caspian conference in Tashkent.

On May, 11th Heavy Caspian conference was held in Tashkent, which was devoted to the issues of transportation and assembly of heavy and oversized cargoes in Russia and CIS countries. During the conference the features of logistics in Uzbekistan and the state of the transport infrastructure were discussed, as well as existing and alternative transport corridors for cargo transportation to Kazakhstan and Central Asia, and trends of the freight market of project cargoes and other topics.
Barrus Projects was represented by Valery Smolyaninov, Head of Project Execution Department. Valery made a report about the changes which can affect project cargo logisticians in terms of sanctions. The main obstacles which the companies are facing now are lack of opportunity and interest for Russian ships to call at the European ports and lack of opportunity and interest for foreign ships to call at the ports of the Russian Federation. Restrictions also affect main transport routes for transportation of large-size and heavy equipment to Central Asia, which is especially important for implementation of large projects in this region.
In spite of all the difficulties currently faced by the market participants, in Valery's opinion, there is confidence that through international cooperation, the necessary opportunities for ODC delivery for the Central Asian region will be found and all the projects will be implemented.
